Frequently asked questions
What are these albums?
The record shelves are a personal album collection: 444 albums by 221 artists, from 1965 to 2026, in eight categories. Every album comes with its cover, the track list per vinyl side and the Dutch Top 40 entries of its tracks, and plays on Spotify. The most albums are by Muse, Madonna, Pink Floyd, Queen and Armin van Buuren. The artists of the concerts on this site are in it with their records, and every artist has a page of their own with the albums, the members over the years and the Dutch Top 40 hits.
How are the albums arranged?
By category by default, each with a shelf of its own: studio albums, singles, live and unplugged albums, compilations, genres and themes, decades, soundtracks and seasonal albums. The buttons above the shelves also sort by artist (A to Z) or by release date (newest year first); genres and themes, decades, soundtracks and seasonal albums then sit apart at the bottom. A click on a spine or a cover opens the album with the track list per vinyl side and the Dutch Top 40 entries of the tracks.
What does an album page show?
The cover, the track list per side with running times, the key and a Spotify button per track, the Dutch Top 40 entry of tracks that made the chart, the sound of the album (tempo, energy and mood, with the quietest and the most energetic track), for a group the line-up in the year of the tracks, and the artist's other albums in the collection.
What is the row of spines above the title?
All albums as spines side by side, in the order of the page; the thickness follows the number of vinyl sides. Point at a spine for the cover and the title, click to open the album.
How do you search for an album, artist or track?
With the search field in the top bar: it finds albums, artists, concerts, tracks and videos at once, with suggestions as you type. Enter opens the first result. Under Artists everyone is listed alphabetically; the Albums button there shows only the artists with an album.
How do you play an album?
Open the album and use the round Spotify button after a track, or play the whole album in one go. The music plays in the player at the bottom of the page and keeps going while you browse on. This needs one-time consent for Spotify.
