guiljam.nl is a personal site with concert videos and setlists. This page briefly explains what happens to your data when you look around here.
What the site records
The site counts how many people visit and which concerts, clips and songs are viewed most. With every page you open, the page, the kind of device, your IP address, your browser and the site you came from are recorded. The IP address, browser and origin are erased after thirty days. The counts are kept for two years, together with the page title and the name of a clip or song you play. The data stays on the site's own server and is not shared with anyone.
Videos from YouTube
A clip plays in a window on the page. The first time, the window asks for your permission. Only then does the video load, through youtube-nocookie.com: the YouTube variant that sets no cookies until you start the video. At that moment Google does see your IP address. Your browser remembers that choice for a year. With "Allow all" you give permission for YouTube and Spotify in one go. See Google's privacy policy.
Music from Spotify
A song from a setlist, a Dutch Top 40 record or the playlist plays in the player at the bottom. The first time, the player asks for your permission, because Spotify sets cookies and sees your IP address. If you are signed in to Spotify, Spotify can link the playback to your account. Without permission nothing from Spotify is loaded. Covers, photos and video stills always come through this site's own image cache, so Spotify and YouTube do not see your visit for those. Map from OpenStreetMap
A venue page shows a small map when the address is known. It comes straight from OpenStreetMap: opening such a page lets that service see your IP address, even without a separate choice on your part (it isn't a player and sets no cookies, so there is no consent prompt for it). What your browser remembers
A cookie for your language (for a year). Your browser's local storage (localStorage, not a cookie) holds your choice for Spotify and YouTube (for a year), the play order of the Dutch Top 40 and the last Dutch Top 40 week you viewed. It stays on your own device and is not sent to the server. The site itself sets nothing else.
Server log
The hosting provider keeps a technical log with IP address, time, requested page and browser, to detect outages and abuse. It is deleted automatically after a limited period.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access, correct and delete your data. If you cannot resolve an issue, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
