What this site keeps about you
guiljam.nl is a personal, non-commercial site with concert videos. There are no accounts, no forms and no ads. Below is exactly what does happen when you visit.
Visitor statistics without cookies
The site counts for itself how many people visit and which concerts, pages, clips and tracks are popular. To do that, after a page has loaded your browser sends a small message to the server with the page visited, the page title, the kind of device (phone, tablet or desktop) and, only on arrival, the site you came from.
No cookie is set and no IP address is stored. To tell visitors apart within a day, an encrypted code (hash) is made from your IP address and browser with a key that is randomly regenerated every day and discarded after two days. After that the code can no longer be linked to anything or anyone. The counts themselves are kept for two years.
Don't want to be counted? Open guiljam.nl/?notrack=1 once. Your browser remembers it and the footer will say "this browser is not counted". With ?notrack=0 you are counted again.
Cookies: only from YouTube and Spotify, only with your consent
This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no Google Analytics or other third-party measurement. Only the YouTube and Spotify players set cookies. A clip, a setlist song or an album plays in a window on the page itself; that window is only loaded when you click it, and the first time the site asks whether that is okay. If you choose Do not allow, nothing from YouTube or Spotify is loaded.
From the moment a player loads, your browser connects to YouTube (in the privacy-enhanced mode, without cookies until you play) or to Spotify, which sets its own cookies and sees your IP address. If you are signed in to Spotify, Spotify can link the playback to your account. See Google's privacy policy and Spotify's privacy policy. Your choice is kept in your browser for a year and can be changed at any time with the Cookie settings button in the footer.
Images
Photos, thumbnails and covers are served from this site's own server. The site fetches them once from YouTube or Spotify and keeps a copy; your browser does not talk to those services for them.
Storage in your own browser
The site remembers your language (in a cookie, for a year), your cookie choice and whether you want to be counted. This data does not go to the server and cannot be traced to you.
Server log
Like every website, the hosting provider keeps a technical log with IP address, time, requested page and browser, to detect outages and abuse. It is deleted automatically after a limited period.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access, correct and delete personal data. Because this site keeps almost nothing that can be traced to you, there is little to access or delete in practice. You change your permission for the YouTube and Spotify players with Cookie settings in the footer. If you cannot resolve an issue, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
